Cooling system:

• Thanks to a unique combination of direct and indirect free cooling, Digitalis is cooled ecologically for the maximum number of days a year, without using air conditioning (running compressors).
• Digitalis uses two-thirds less electricity to power its supporting infrastructure.

Diesel generators:

• The Caterpillar diesel generators are equipped with twin starters, one being powered by its own generator accumulator, and the other directly from the rotary UPS, resulting in the further improvement of launch reliability.
• Generators are located directly in the data centre building.
• Residual heat is also used to temper motor generators and machine rooms, saving additional electricity.
• Underground fuel tanks have adequate stock for the case of a prolonged power outage.

Bus ducts

In the Digitalis data center Legnrad bus ducts are installed.

• Bus duct is an enclosed metal unit containing copper or aluminum busbars for distribution of large amounts of power between components of the distribution system.
• Their main advantage is that even at full voltage other points of supply can be connected, and the system can be flexibly modified.
• Metal covered busbars are grounded what creates superior shielding. Thanks minimal electromagnetic interference, this system is particularly suitable for data centers.

Active data infrastructure:

The internal data infrastructure comprises main Cisco routers and Cisco Nexus aggregation switches by Cisco Systems.

• Cisco Nexus switch provides simplified infrastructure, allowing increased performance and flexibility for traditional data centers
• Cisco Nexus switches are installed in DC Digitalis and also in our older data center SHC III.
• This fully redundant design also allows creating virtual data centers and geographical clusters that support immediate migration of virtual servers from our data center Digitalis to SHC3 while preserving the original IP address.

IT racks:

The actual servers are placed in 340 Rittal racks in Digitalis data rooms with a total of almost 1,000m²

• High load capacity up to 1,500 kg
• Each server has its own power consumption meter with a direct link to the VNET information system.
• Customers have the unique opportunity to check consumption in 15-minute intervals via the VNET customer zone.
