PUE (power usage effectiveness) is an indicator showing the energy efficiency of a data centre. It is calculated as the ratio between the total energy consumed by a data centre and the power consumed by a computing infrastructure placed in the data centre. The nearer to 1 the value is, the higher the efficiency of the data centre.
The average PUE value at conventional data centres is approximately 2. That means that for every 1kW used for computing power, another 1kW is needed to run the supporting infrastructure. We assume that due to the unique solution of cooling and power supply, DC Digitalis will achieve a PUE ranging from 1.2 to 1.5 (depending on the season), which represents huge energy savings and reduced environmental impact. DC Digitalis is green. For more information about how we protect the environment, click here.
